FAQs
Are your pieces available in anything other than gold?
I choose to work exclusively in gold because of its properties as a metal, and it’s value as a keepsake. As a metal, gold is durable, breaks-in well, and is striking in its finished state. I also love that gold often earns its place in the heart of the giver or the receiver as a family heirloom, a meaningful gift, or a token of self love. For these reasons and so many more, my heart belongs to gold.
Do you accept returns or exchanges?
Love & Grief jewelry is all final sale.
All pieces are handmade to order so I can’t honor requests for returns, exchanges, or size adjustments. I appreciate your understanding of the process, and I’ve created a checklist to help you place your order with confidence:
Confirm your size. Go to your local jeweler to try on a ring sizer and find your true fit before you place an order.
Sleep on it. A custom gold piece is an investment, and there’s nothing wrong with taking a little time to sit with the decision to buy. In fact, I recommend it.
Ask away. Have a question about a piece before you buy? I have an answer. Send a message and we’ll talk it out.
Is the gold recycled?
It is. Thank you for contributing to a world with less waste by supporting Love & Grief.
How long will it take for my order to arrive?
You can expect your order to arrive within 6-8 weeks from the date of purchase via USPS. After you place an order, I begin handcrafting your custom piece, and there are several steps in the process that take a little time to ensure everything is artfully made to Love & Grief’s standards. You’ll receive an email once your order is placed, and another one when it ships—along with tracking information—to keep you in the loop. I liken the process to buying a custom garment: You love it, you buy it, it goes through a journey of getting perfected just for you, then you have the piece and the memories forever.
**If you selected Local Pickup (Nashville), you can expect your order to be ready within 6-8 weeks from the date of purchase. I will be in touch via email once your order is available for pickup.
Do you sell Gift cards?
Yes, digital gift cards can be found on the Shop page.
How do I care for my ring?
One of the reasons I love working in gold is because it’s so durable. Water, hand lotions or oils, perfumes, and soaps won’t affect your ring at all. You can wash your ring in warm water with mild dishwashing soap and a soft cloth. Keep in mind, gold is a soft metal, and as you break it in, it will likely get little dings and scratches during its lifecycle. This gives your piece even more character. These pieces are made to be worn. Wear them, live in them, make them your own.
